While most of the services in the Russian Army have their own Reconnaissance
detachements, the Army also has it's very own Reconnaissance/Intelligence
service which is the top cream of the Russian Army. The GRU (Glavnoe
Razvedyvatel'noe Upravlenie - Central Intelligence Service) spetsnaz operatives
exhibit the Army Recon patches when in the field.
